Kuopio’s 250th anniversary called for a celebratory identity that could live across campaigns, events, and public touchpoints throughout the year. Alongside the anniversary mark, a campaign-driven motion world was developed to bring the celebration to life in a consistent and recognizable way.
The motion needed to feel festive and energetic without turning into visual noise. It had to scale from a hero launch video to social, screens, and city-wide communications.
The motion world was designed around bold entries, layered build-ups, and clear rhythmic pacing. The colorful elements move with purpose and story, creating a sense of shared celebration and forward motion. The launch video set the tone – establishing the visual rhythm and behavioral rules that could carry across the anniversary year.
The goal was a motion language that feels event-driven and uplifting, but structured enough to remain consistent across all campaign uses.
The launch film established the direction, and the broader motion world allowed the anniversary identity to scale across channels and formats. Motion became a unifying layer that helped the 250-year celebration feel cohesive, visible, and alive throughout the campaign.
